Well, in case you missed the relationship status change on facebook, the beautiful shiny rock on my left hand, the hundreds of likes and comments, or the gigantic smiles that haven’t left our faces since Christmas, I’ll tell you the exciting news myself: Mr. Gary Stauffer asked me to marry him, and I said yes.

The moment was perfect: he didn’t put me through a long scavenger hunt, take me out into the middle of the ocean, or write it in the sky.  He did it exactly the way I would have wanted it: with my family, at home, on Christmas day.

The ring is perfect: I can’t look at it without smiling… and I can hardly go an hour without looking at it. I couldn’t have picked out a more beautiful ring if I would have tried. Best of all: it is his mother’s diamond.  When I found that out… speechless.  If you haven’t seen it, you’re seriously missing out. We’ll have to fix that.

We’re shooting for May: a small family wedding, closest friends and family. Though there are many details to work out between now and then, I have a good planning partner who is determined to not allow the stress of the event to fall on my shoulders. He’s great 🙂  If you haven’t met him, you’re seriously missing out. We’ll have to fix that.

Thank you to everyone for your words of encouragement, your enthusiasm, your prayers and your blessings. I’m so excited to be marrying my best friend and spend the rest of my life with this man. He’s not perfect, but He is a man who loves the Lord first and strives to live for Him… and he loves me second and encourages me to be more like the Lord each day.

My heart is full, and I am blessed.

So blessed.
